This design was inspired by the linear and organic shapes that mingle in nature. The stranded portion is meant to mimic accumulating snow on a winter beach; the shifting sand shaping the snow into scalloped peaks and valleys. The embroidered straight vertical lines reference rivulets, sketching lines in the sand as the waves come ashore.
